Global entertainment company The Malachite Group (TMG) has opened a new talent agency, TMG Talent. Founder of TMG, Obi Asika, will lead the agency, bringing his experience as the former Co-Head of United Talent Agency UK (UTA) and Founder of Echo Location Talent Agency.
The roster:
TMG will primarily focus on signing African clientele and creating opportunities in the region for international artists.
South African pop star Tyla has been confirmed as the first client for TMG.
TMG will oversee her activities alongside The Team, the African Creative Agency, We Make Music, and Hype Management.
Future TMG signings will also leverage partnerships with other agencies in coordinating tours, appearances, and other opportunities in Africa.
The team:
Beyond Asika, the TMG team will include:
Jen Martin, former Music Operations Manager at UTA.
Josh Koram, Artist Booker for Afro Nation.
Ishbel Macpherson, Artist Booking Manager.
What they said:
Asika: “Africa is the fastest-growing and most culturally influential region in the world today, and our mission is twofold. For TMG Talent to find, develop, and promote African talent on a global stage and to be the trusted partner for existing talent agencies to unlock touring and financial opportunities and engage with audiences across the continent.
