LATAM Spotlight: How Magnus Built a Roster That Runs From Música Tropical to Urbano

Inside the Latin agency that books Marc Anthony, Pepe Aguilar and Maria Becerra and manages Trueno and Bacilos

Magnus was founded in Miami in 2015 by Marc Anthony and Michel Vega. Vega, the longtime former head of Latin music at WME, leads the company as CEO, with Ana Christina Ordóñez as Vice President. Magnus spans artist management, a booking agency, record label and publishing services. In 2023, Magnus Talent Agency acquired the booking and management division of Tomas Cookman's Industria Works, adding a team in Spain and bringing in artists like Trueno and YADAM. Today Magnus both books and manages Trueno, Bacilos and Olivia Bay.

Across genres, Trueno, Maria Becerra and Micro TDH lead the urbano side, alongside Pututi & Nesty and Kidd Voodoo. Pepe Aguilar and Eden Muñoz carry música mexicana, Marc Anthony, Gente De Zona, Guaco and Bacilos carry tropical, and Yami Safdie and Olivia Bay carry pop.

Industry interest on ROSTR is following that range. Views of Magnus's roster are up 1.7x so far this year. Tropical acts lead the growth, with 80% more industry viewers, driven by Marc Anthony and Gente De Zona, and música mexicana viewers are up 38%. Micro TDH's industry viewers also more than doubled.

Trueno is the roster's most-viewed artist, and views of his profile more than doubled (2.2x) this year. In the week after TURR4ZO dropped in April, industry views of his profile hit their highest point of the year. Marc Anthony is close behind, in the top 8% of all artists on ROSTR. Four Magnus artists also earned five Latin GRAMMY nominations this year, ahead of the Nov 12 ceremony.

Behind the artists, Vega and Ordóñez work with agents Katherine Coloma and Manny Mora in Miami, Agustín López and Jimena Sporleder in Madrid, and Rodrigo Espector in Buenos Aires, along with partner Tomas Cookman in Los Angeles.
