Japanese ticketing and digital event platform ZAIKO has announced a strategic integration partnership with streaming giant Spotify.
The details:
The collaboration means that ticket information for events handled by ZAIKO is now automatically displayed in Spotify’s live events feed and on artist profiles.
It provides a new channel for organizers to reach potential ticket buyers, for when a listener visits an artist’s page or Spotify events section, any shows sold via ZAIKO are automatically displayed, with a direct link to purchase tickets.
Background:
ZAIKO’s CEO is Kazuhiro Shimada, the former Chief Operating Officer of Warner Music Japan.
As per Music Business Worldwide (MBW), this partnership provides Spotify with access to concert listings across key Asian markets, where live music spending continues to grow (ticket sales in Asia are projected to hit $5.18 billion this year).
The integration continues Spotify’s expansion into live entertainment, having integrated UK-headquartered ticketing platform Skiddle and Dutch event management platform Stager in April.
What they said:
ZAIKO CEO Kazuhiro Shimada (speaking to MBW): “Integrating live event information in a digital streaming service is a clear benefit for music lovers, and I am very excited about the strategic partnership with Spotify which brings artists and fans closer together.”
