FPC and Live Nation Respond to NIVA’s Comments on Miller High Life Theatre

The companies say they “will continue to bring events to” the Milwaukee venue

Live Nation and Wisconsin-based promoter and venue operator FPC Live have responded to claims by the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) that Milwaukee’s Miller High Life Theatre is under threat due in part to the building of a new Live Nation venue, Landmark Credit Union Live, across the street.

The details:

  • In its statement, NIVA references a report by Hunden Partners that recommends razing the Miller High Life Theatre to build a hotel, which will in turn maximize business at the nearby Baird Center.

  • In their statement to New Industry Focus, Live Nation and FPC Live say: “Any effort to link Live Nation or FPC Live to the Hunden study is misleading, as neither organization was consulted or involved in the report.”

  • The companies add that they value the role of the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwaukee’s venue ecosystem, that they currently have several sold out shows booked there, and that they “will continue to bring events to the venue.”

  • Landmark Credit Union Live is, they claim, privately funded, and has been “designed to complement Milwaukee’s vibrant venues like the Miller High Life Theatre and will attract more shows to the city.”

  • The statement concludes by saying the Miller High Life Theatre is owned by the Wisconsin Center District, which will make any decisions about the venue’s future.
