K-pop’s ‘Big Four’ Unveil FANOMENON Festival in Seoul and Los Angeles

K-pop’s four biggest companies – HYBE, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment – have teamed with the South Korean government to unveil the FANOMENON music festival.

The launch:

• FANOMENON will launch in Seoul on December 2, 2027, and run until December 12.

• It will be held at Seoul Arena and the KINTEX exhibition center.

• In addition to concerts, the convention will give out awards to fan communities, using quantitative data to reward the 10 most active fandoms of the year.

• Each award will be accepted by that fandom’s artist on its behalf.

• The festival will also include an esports competition, film and drama soundtrack concerts, and exhibitions from K-culture companies.

• The Korea Culture & Tourism Institute estimates the 2027 awards will generate more than 1 trillion won (approximately USD $680 million) in economic impact.

Los Angeles event:

• Though only at the discussion stage, the organizing committee is eyeing plans to take FANOMENON to Los Angeles in May 2028.
