Dave Shapiro, Sound Talent Group Co-Founder, Dies in Plane Crash
Former The Devil Wears Prada drummer Daniel Williams also perished
Sound Talent Group (STG) Co-Founder and music agent Dave Shapiro died in a plane crash in San Diego on Thursday morning.
Also on board:
The accident also claimed the life of Daniel Williams, former drummer with metalcore act The Devil Wears Prada. Two other, yet to be identified STG staff are also believed to have perished in the accident.
Shapiro's legacy:
Shapiro founded the independent talent agency Sound Talent Group in 2018 alongside Tim Borror and Matt Andersen. STG has 40 full-time employees and dozens of clients, including Bush, Sum 41, Cloud Nothings, Pierce The Veil, Duff McKagan, and more. Shapiro was also a founding member of the National Independent Talent Organization (NITO).
STG's statement:
"We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today's tragedy."
NITO's statement:
NITO called Shapiro "a visionary in the music industry." It added: "This is a monumental loss to our community."
The Devil Wears Prada statement:
The metalcore band posted to social media: "No words. We owe you everything. Love you forever."
