Create Music Group Invests $300 Million in Nettwerk Management Buyout
Nettwerk will be acquiring its management business from its current investors
Nettwerk Music Group and Create Music Group (CMG), two prominent diversified music companies, have announced a new significant collaboration. Nettwerk will purchase its management business from its current investors with over $300 million in funds provided by CMG.
How it works:
The money will come from CMG’s finance arm, Create Capital, which will provide capital and support services moving forward.
This new partnership will further empower Nettwerk to better serve its management clients, such as Paris Paloma, Passenger, and Leisure.
Nettwerk will have access to CMG’s infrastructure, including global distribution networks and label services.
Nettwerk’s leadership will still oversee day-to-day operations.
The deal is intended to be finalized this month.
What they said:
Terry McBride, Co-Founder and CEO of Nettwerk: “We’re excited about this next chapter in Nettwerk’s journey. Partnering with Create allows us to continue to build on our foundation, grow our capabilities, and provide even more value to the artists we represent — while staying true to our roots as an artist-focused, independent Canadian label.”
Create Music Group CEO and Co-Founder Jonathan Strauss: “Terry and his team at Nettwerk have built one of the most enduring and influential independent music companies in the modern era. We are excited to put all of the resources at our disposal behind Terry and his management team to fuel Nettwerk’s continued global growth.”
