The Sony-owned merch company has filed a complaint in a New York federal court
Boutique merchandising company, and Sony Music subsidiary, Ceremony of Roses has lodged a complaint in a New York federal court targeting bootleg merchandise sellers.
More details:
The litigation relates to Benson Boone’s American Heart tour, which kicked off on August 22 and will run into November.
It lists unnamed John Doe bootleggers and XYZ Company as the defendants, but will be updated with actual names.
It aims to crack down on individuals accused of selling bootleg merch outside Boone’s concerts, criticizing the quality of the knock-offs and the reputational damage they may cause the artist.
As per Complete Music Update, Ceremony of Roses wants the court to issue an injunction banning the sale of bootlegged Boone merch and ordering US marshals and local police to “seize and impound any and all infringing merchandise” the defendants sell or distribute in the vicinity of his shows.
Other suits:
Merch Traffic recently filed a similar suit over bootleg Tate McRae goods being sold outside her shows.
Earlier this year David Gilmour sued a website selling unofficial Pink Floyd merchandise.
