Following its acquisition of American live events marketplace Eventbrite in March, Italian technology company Bending Spoons has begun making staff cuts.
“Leaner, more agile”:
In a blog post by Eventbrite’s new lead Andrea Parodi, he says Bending Spoons has been “studying the business inside and out.”
A decision was made to “part ways with a large portion of the pre-acquisition team.”
A “smaller, faster-moving team” will enable the company to “execute on our ambitious plans quickly without compromising creator support.”
Bending Spoons team members will now join to accelerate product development.
Moving forward:
Parido says Bending Spoons has spoken with “hundreds of creators, reviewed thousands of support tickets, and personally tested every tool and workflow available to creators.”
They have identified five key areas of focus: platform reliability, improving creator tools, event reach and discovery, ticketing experience, and checkout.
Parodi says that as of the beginning of April, they have made 12 new capabilities and improvements live on the Eventbrite platform.
