Beatport and Beatsource Are Merging Into One DJ Marketplace

Beatport focused on dance music DJs, whereas Beatsource was marketed towards open-format DJs

Beatport has announced that Beatsource, the open-format DJ marketplace also owned by The Beatport Group, will merge with the main Beatport platform. Now users will be able to find the full libraries for both sites in one place.

How it works:

  • Beatsource users will be able to transition their accounts into Beatport accounts beginning this month.

  • The transfer will be completed “over the coming months,” according to a press release.

  • Account login details will remain the same.

  • Beatsource data that will be transferred includes playlists and active streaming plans.

  • Beatsource purchase history will be converted to a Beatport playlist.

  • Subscriptions will be transferred as follows:

  • Beatsource will become Beatport Advanced. The price will remain $12.99/month for three months starting on the specific transfer date, then renew for $15.99/month.

  • Beatsource Pro+ will become Beatport Professional+ and remain at  $34.99/month.

What they said:

  • Robb McDaniels, CEO of Beatport: “We’re raising the bar for what a premium DJ service should be. With Beatsource joining Beatport, DJs get one unified platform that combines trusted curation with unmatched depth of music, built to support them from discovery to performance.”
