Armada Music Launches New Partnership With Kanjian to Expand its Footprint in China

Kanjian has a vast network that can connect Armada with various Chinese streaming services

Prominent Dutch electronic label Armada Music has partnered with Kanjian, a Chinese company specializing in digital infrastructure for the music industry, to expand its reach in China. A prominent benefit of the deal is that Kanjian can get Armada’s catalog into various Chinese-based streaming platforms spread throughout the massive country.

How it works:

  • Unlike the Western world, where a few streaming platforms dominate, China’s digital music environment is more localized.

  • Kanjian has developed a network within China’s infrastructure that will allow Armada to reach the country’s 1.4 billion citizens.

  • This network includes over 400 music channels globally.

Background:

  • Kanjian oversees 40 million music assets for over one million artists and 480,000 organizations.

  • The company has similar partnerships with other prominent Western dance labels such as Monstercat and Defected Records.

What they said:

  • Maykel Piron, CEO of Armada Music: “China presents an enormous opportunity for electronic music, but realising its full potential requires strong local expertise and infrastructure. Partnering with Kanjian enables us to bring Armada Music’s catalogue to more listeners and commercial partners across the market, while creating new, sustainable opportunities for our artists and their music."

  • Tinko Georgiev, VP of International Business, Kanjian: "China's digital landscape is incredibly rewarding, but navigating its specific technological frameworks requires specialised infrastructure. Our job is to serve as that end-to-end operational backbone. By providing a unified system for monetisation and comprehensive rights management, we enable a household name like Armada to focus on strategic growth while we handle their route to listeners and commercial partners at scale.”
