The Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) has launched the Australian Music Touring Network (AMTN), a free platform that brings Australia’s original live music venues together in a living, map-based directory.
Why it matters:
The directory creates a new resource for artists, managers, booking agents and tour managers looking to discover venues and build touring opportunities across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.
Designed to simplify tour planning and building, it aims to help musicians find the right performance opportunities, connect with venue bookers, and map out national touring routes, all in one place.
How it works:
Users can browse the interactive venue map to discover new venues, or use filters to narrow down options.
They can also save venues to a Favorites list to build a shortlist of potential tour stops.
Each venue profile contains information such as capacity, preferred genres, booking contact information, opening days, technical specifications, accessibility, and local knowledge about nearby accommodation, food and transport options.
The Touring function can organize regional and national touring routes and itineraries, with users able to view distances and approximate driving times between stops.
Tour itineraries can then be exported to a spreadsheet and shared with teams.
The platform also connects touring artists with community radio stations servicing areas along their proposed touring routes, helping artists connect with local broadcasters and audiences.
Original live music venues around Australia can register to be on the AMTN map here.
Artists and industry professionals can also sign up for free access.
