TikTok Brings YouTube Music Onto Add to Music App
TikTok users will now be able to save music they find on the platform directly to YouTube Music
TikTok has announced that YouTube Music is the latest DSP included in its feature, Add to Music App. This function allows users to save music they find on TikTok to their TikTok Songs playlist in their YouTube Music account.
How it works:
A button that says “Add Song” is near the track name in TikTok videos on the For You Feed.
Pressing it for the first time will allow users to select YouTube Music as their default DSP for saves. Then the track will go straight into a playlist called TikTok Songs.
Users can change the default service to other major streamers such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music via the Settings and Privacy menu.
The numbers:
Since TikTok introduced Add to Music App in 2024, over a billion tracks have been saved across all DSPs.
What they said:
Tracy Gardner, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development: “Add to Music App continues to deliver real results for the music industry, with hundreds of millions of track saves translating into billions of streams on music streaming services. By partnering with YouTube Music, we’re expanding this impact globally, helping artists reach new audiences while giving fans a seamless way to engage with the music they discover on TikTok.”
