Taylor Swift Fans’ Lawsuit Against Live Nation to Proceed

The suit relates to the ‘Eras’ tour onsale

A federal judge in Los Angeles has cleared the way for a class-action suit brought by Taylor Swift fans against Live Nation and Ticketmaster to proceed.

The allegations:

  • In 2022, 350 Taylor Swift fans who’d attempted to buy tickets to the singer’s Eras tour sued Live Nation and Ticketmaster, alleging the companies had violated antitrust laws by illegally monopolizing US ticket markets.

  • As per Reuters, they claimed the companies’ “control of presales and alleged technical failures deprived them of fair access to tickets, forcing many to pay inflated resale prices.”

  • On November 21 US District Judge George Wu denied Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit in its entirety, adopting a prior tentative decision issued on November 12.

  • He did, however, dismiss the claims of fraud, negligent misrepresentation and negligence.
