Qobuz, the French high-resolution streaming service, has announced it has developed a proprietary function to identify AI-generated music on its platform. Tags will soon appear on the interface, letting users know which tracks have been made with AI.
How it works:
Qobuz has stated that the function will also remove tracks that are uploaded fraudulently, impersonating artists without approval, and manipulating streams.
AI-generated tracks will be excluded from reports and royalty calculations.
The updates are designed to “protect artists and listeners from AI-generated content.”
What they said:
Georges Fornay, Deputy CEO of Qobuz: “The hyperinflation of AI-generated content is creating distrust across the music industry. At Qobuz, music discovery remains guided by human passion, not algorithms optimized for volume. These new measures reinforce our commitment to guaranteeing fair artists’ visibility and compensation, giving listeners confidence that humans remain in control.”
