
SBI Holdings Negotiating to Build Sphere Replica in Japan

Japanese financial services company SBI Holdings is in negotiations to build a replica of the Las Vegas Sphere in Tokyo, as per IQ Magazine.
The details:
The company has singled out Odaiba, an artificial island in Tokyo Bay, as a potential location.
The total cost is estimated to be 350-500 billion yen (USD $2.2 - $3.15 billion).
It would hold around 20,000 people, with the outside covered in 360-degree LED displays, as per the flagship venue in Vegas.
Negotiations are expected to continue over the next few months.
“This is a project we are determined to pursue no matter what,” SBI’s Chairman and President Yoshitaka Kitao told reporters at a media briefing on March 31, as per The Japan Times.
Expansion:
Sphere Entertainment is finalizing plans for a replica Sphere in Abu Dhabi, while a second, smaller US venue has been confirmed for Maryland.
As per IQ Magazine, Nashville is reportedly also under consideration.
Financial results:
Sphere Entertainment reported revenue growth of 8% to $1.2 billion in 2025, with an operating loss of $229.6 million.
The Sphere itself recorded $781.4 million in revenue, a 27% bump YoY from $617.7 million in 2024.
