Reunion Tour Axed: Pussycat Dolls Cancel North America Run

The group made the call after “taking an honest look” at the dates

Hot on the heels of Zayn Malik canceling his US tour, and Post Malone and Jelly Roll ditching the first third of their stadium tour, comes news that the reunited Pussycat Dolls have called off their North American reunion shows.

Soft ticket sales:

  • In a statement, the Dolls said the US tour was being shelved “after taking an honest look at the North American run.”

  • Though the group didn’t mention poor ticket sales, they didn’t offer any other explanation.

  • As Variety points out, a look at the seating chart for the group’s first show at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on June 5 showed few tickets had been sold.

  • The tour was set to feature 32 shows, in addition to a performance at the Outloud Music Festival in West Hollywood on June 6, at which they will still appear.

  • The group’s UK and European dates will go ahead as planned.

Contributing factors:

  • Some suggest the fact that the reunion features only three of six original members – Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts – contributed to the underwhelming sales.

  • Others point to ticket prices and the fact the tour was perhaps better suited to theaters over arenas.
