Tech and finance outlet The Information is reporting that OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT and the Sora AI video creation tool, is on the verge of entering the generative AI music space.
The details:
It’s unclear if OpenAI plans to release a tool that can create an entire song from a text prompt, à la Suno and Udio.
However, The Information references sources that say OpenAI’s tool could be used to add a soundtrack to a video, or instrumental accompaniment to a vocal track.
OpenAI has reportedly been working with students at the Juilliard School of Music, who are said to be annotating music scores to create training data.
