B2B music intelligence company MusiMap, which helps companies harness the emotional power of music to reach consumers and unlock commercial opportunities, has launched a new intelligence suite with four unique products. The company calls it a “practical music intelligence stack for organizations working with music at scale.”
How it works:
MusiMap says the technology is driven by 40 years of research by musicologist Pierre Lebecque, and will “transform how the connection between music and human emotion can be deployed for commercial purposes.”
The four products draw on MusiMap’s ability to analyze music across more than 120 genres, 60 moods, 70 situations, 48 acoustic attributes, and over 4,000 descriptive keywords in 12 languages.
The four products:
MusiTag tags tracks across more than 300 emotional, contextual and sonic attributes.
MusiSearch enables music supervisors to search for different tracks by emotional profile or cultural context.
MusiProfile transforms audience preferences into detailed insights.
MusiTrace is a fingerprinting tool that identifies and matches songs to known recordings for audio identification, usage monitoring, and royalty management.
Commercial launch:
Global music strategy and brand partnerships agency Light On is MusiMap’s first commercial customer to adopt the new intelligence suite.
Ty Roberts appointment:
To support the launch, MusiMap has appointed Ty Roberts as Chief Commercial Officer.
Roberts brings 30+ years of music technology and commercial expertise, including co-founding Gracenote and serving as Universal Music Group’s first Chief Technology Officer.
He will focus on strategic partnerships, licensing, and enterprise applications.
What they said:
Patrick Zucchetta, Chief Revenue Officer at MusiMap: “At MusiMap, we have spent years building technology that understands music through emotion, context and cultural meaning. This creates powerful commercial applications for companies such as Light On, helping them develop focused strategies that connect with consumers on an individual and emotional level. With his experience scaling music technologies and building strategic partnerships, Ty Roberts will help us bring MusiMap's platform to more organizations around the world.”
