Jordi Tello Named MD of Sony Music Publishing Iberia

Sony Music Publishing (SMP) has elevated Jordi Tello to Managing Director of Iberia with immediate effect.

The role:

• Tello will oversee creative and business operations across Spain and Portugal, strengthening key relationships with clients and industry partners, and expanding global support for SMP songwriters.

• He will be based out of Madrid and report directly to SMP President, International, Guy Henderson.

• He succeeds longtime SMP Spain MD Juan Ignacio Alonso, who retired at the end of August.

Backstory:

• Tello joined SMP in April 2024 as A&R Director, signing or working with talent including Rels B, Arde Bogotá, Morad, RVFV, Cruz Cafuné, to name a few.

• He began his career as a musician before joining Warner Music as an A&R in 1999.

• From 2002 – 2017 he was at Universal Music Publishing, eventually moving into the A&R Director role.

• He joined Sony Music as an A&R Director in 2017, before returning to music publishing at SMP in 2024.
