
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (HOF) has announced its class of 2026, inducting eight artists.
The inductees:
Phil Collins (first time nominated as a solo artist; already in the HOF with Genesis)
Billy Idol (second time nominated)
Iron Maiden (third time)
Joy Division/New Order (third time)
Oasis (third time)
Sade (second time)
Luther Vandross (first time)
Wu-Tang Clan (first time)
Missing out:
Seventeen artists were on the initial ballot.
Which means The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P!nk and Shakira miss out on being inducted in 2026.
New Edition did, however, win the fan vote.
Also inducted:
The Rock Hall committee has selected a further 10 artists to be inducted under the categories Early Influence, Music Excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Early Influence Award: Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Gram Parsons
Musical Excellence Award: Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller, Rick Rubin
Ahmet Ertegun Award: Ed Sullivan
Ceremony:
The induction ceremony will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles.
It will be broadcast on ABC and Disney+ in December, as per Variety.
