Helen Folasade Adu (born January 16, 1959, Ibadan, Nigeria), known professionally as Sade, is a Nigerian-born British singer, songwriter, and actress. She is renowned for her distinctive blend of soul, funk, jazz, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. Sade studied at Saint Martin's School of Art in London before rising to international fame with her band Sade.
