ATG Entertainment Launches ATG Live

The concert, comedy and events division will be led by SVP Erik Newson

ATG Entertainment, which owns, operates or programs 72 venues across the US, UK, and Continental Europe, has launched ATG Live, a newly formed concert, comedy and events division led by Senior Vice President Erik Newson.

Why it matters:

  • ATG produces 500 live events each year, selling around one million tickets across 18 US venues.

  • ATG Live seeks to strengthen the company’s position in the live music and single-nights events space.

Key personnel:

  • Erik Newson has more than 30 years’ experience across artist management, international touring, talent buying, and event production.

  • He joined ATG Entertainment in 2023, programming the Saenger Theatre and Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans.

  • He’s joined by VP of Programming Kevin Couch, a former touring drummer turned artist manager who’s worked with artists like Color Me Badd.

  • Couch handles the San Antonio, Tulsa, Little Rock and Springfield markets.

  • Director of Programming Jenn Sonick came to ATG five years ago from AEG Presents Rocky Mountains.

  • She programs the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn and the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston.

  • Fellow Programming Director Mark Austin covers the Smart Financial Centre in Houston/Sugarland.

  • Scott Simoneaux, San Francisco Director of Programming, joins from Teregram Presents in Los Angeles.

  • He programs the Orpheum, Golden Gate and Curran Theatres for ATG Live.

What they said:

  • Erik Newson, ATG Senior Vice President: “ATG Live was built with a clear intention: to present iconic shows in the highest quality venues, while being thoughtful about how and where artists connect with their audiences. We see a real opportunity to offer an alternative to the increasingly standardized national touring model by curating exceptional artists and experiences that feel purposeful, artist‑driven, and truly special for fans.”
