Buying merch at one of BTS’s upcoming North American stadium dates has just gotten quicker, with Amazon Music announcing it will be deploying its RFID “Just Walk Out” technology at all 31 dates.
What it means:
Fans can grab their items and head to a dedicated RFID exit lane.
Tags on the merch will be read automatically as they move through the lane.
Fans can then simply tap their card or phone to pay.
The system is designed to reduce wait times in traditional checkout lines.
Massive rollout:
Though the technology has been used at Camp Flog Gnaw, this is the first time it’s been rolled out on this scale for a North American stadium run.
What they said:
Julia Heiser, Head of Live Merch, Amazon Music: “ARMY are among the most passionate communities in music, and they deserve a merch experience that matches their energy. By bringing Just Walk Out technology to this tour, we’re marking a genuine first in live music – deploying checkout-free technology at this scale for a North American stadium tour. We couldn’t be more excited to pioneer this with BTS.”
