EMI Records

EMI Records, formerly EMI Records Ltd., is a British multinational record label owned by Universal Music Group. It was founded by the music company EMI in 1972, launching in 1973 as the successor to Columbia and Parlophone. EMI has been home to iconic artists like The Beatles, Queen, and Pink Floyd. In 2012, EMI was acquired by Universal Music Group. Universal revived the EMI label in 2020, succeeding Virgin EMI, with Virgin Records now an imprint of EMI Records.
