Veteran Manager Peter Katsis has Died

Peter Katsis, who managed major artists such as Backstreet Boys, Korn, Jane’s Addiction, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, and Morrissey, has died at the age of 69. The cause of death was confirmed by Variety as complications from congestive heart failure.

Katsis’s Career:

• Katsis started as a manager in the 80s. His first big client was the early electronic group Ministry.

• He was heavily involved in the early Chicago dance scene, which went on to define the genre of house music.

• In 1990, he moved to LA, where he began working at The Firm, Inc. during its musical heyday.

• While there, Katsis managed Backstreet Boys, Korn, Enrique Iglesias, 30 Seconds to Mars, Snoop Dogg, OneRepublic, Audioslave, Limp Bizkit, and many more.

• In his years following The Firm, he worked with Morrissey, Liz Phair, Bush, 311, Pentatonix, and 5 Seconds of Summer.

• Variety said that “he oversaw the most productive era of Morrissey’s career since the early ‘90s.”
