Universal Music India Launches New Label In Partnership With Bollywood Studio
The joint venture is called Mad for Mussic and it will focus on releasing soundtrack music
Universal Music India (UMI) has partnered with Maddock Films, the popular Bollywood production studio, to launch a new record label called Mad for Mussic. The label will primarily release film soundtracks.
Mad for Mussic:
Maddock Films founder Dinesh Vijan will be in charge of Mad for Mussic.
Local film music is India’s largest music category.
A recent popular soundtrack from Maddock Films productions is the horror-comedy, “Stree 2.”
The four songs on its EP range from 140 to 250 million streams on Spotify.
UMI will leverage its network as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group (UMG) to create international opportunities for the label.
