Bravado, the merchandise and brand management division of Universal Music Group, has successfully sought a court order authorizing the seizure of counterfeit A$AP Rocky merch sold outside the rapper’s concerts.
The order:
The temporary restraining order and seizure order granted by US District Judge Sim Lake applies to Rocky’s 'Don’t Be Dumb World Tour' dates from June 20 to July 1.
As per Music Business Worldwide, the defendants are temporarily restrained from making and selling merchandise displaying the A$AP Rocky trademarks.
The US Marshal, state and local police and Bravado’s agents are authorized to seize infringing goods from three hours before to three hours after each performance, anywhere within a three-mile vicinity of each venue.
Preliminary injunction:
At a show-cause hearing on July 1, the defendants must explain why the temporary order should not continue.
Bravado will use the hearing to seek a preliminary injunction covering the remaining dates on Rocky’s tour.
The defendants are currently listed as John Does 1-100, Jane Does 1-100, and XYZ Company, with their details to be added once ascertained.
