Iconic dance music label Ultra Records has appointed Carlos Alcala as Director of A&R.
The role:
Alcala will focus on identifying and breaking the next wave of global dance music.
He will represent the New York-based label from Los Angeles.
Backstory:
Alcala was instrumental in bringing Thrive Music back to prominence following its 2015 relaunch, discovering and building talent while helping shape records that resonated globally.
Throughout his career he has worked with artists such as Tiësto, Kaskade, Wuki and Gudfella, guiding creative direction, identifying breakout records and helping build long-term careers.
He was also involved with ACRAZE’s “Do It To It,” which has amassed over a billion streams worldwide.
Label history:
Ultra was founded in 1995, and since 2021 has been a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment.
