TikTok Shutters Nashville Office, Lays Off 250 Staff

TikTok is closing its Nashville office on Music Row, laying off 250 staff, as reported by The New York Times. The office will close on October 5.

Timeline:

• TikTok signed the lease on its Music Row location in 2024, having previously operated out of a WeWork, as reported by Music Business Worldwide.

• Following a 2024 law requiring TikTok’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, to divest its US operations or face a ban, TikTok’s US business was restructured into TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, a joint venture led by American investors, with the restructuring completed in January 2026.
