Ticketek Offers Refunds for Wu-Tang No-Shows
Several members have missed their Australian tour dates
Australian ticketing company Ticketek offered refunds to those attending the recent Sydney and Melbourne shows by legendary rappers Wu-Tang Clan. Their ‘Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber’ farewell tour was advertised as the last opportunity to see “all members” of the famed hip-hop group perform, however several of the rappers were no-shows.
MIA:
Method Man, Raekwon, Cappadonna and Young Dirty Bastard were all absent from the group’s dates in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The collective had previously indicated via an Instagram story that Method Man would not be making the trip to Australia, though there was no advance warning regarding the others.
Backlash:
Following social media outcry over the members’ absence at the tour kick-off in Brisbane, Ticketek sent an email to ticketholders for the Melbourne and Sydney shows.
As per The Music Network, the email read: “We want to make fans aware that due to unforeseen circumstances, a couple of members will be unable to join the remaining tour dates in Melbourne and Sydney. Wu-Tang Clan will be performing and bringing everything that has made them one of the most iconic live acts in hip-hop history.”
The ticketing company then offered refunds to fans in those cities who no longer wanted to attend.
