SoundCloud has introduced "Liked By" Indicators to help users discover new music.
How it works:
As users browse playlists, search results and more, they’ll see profile icons highlighting who’s liked each track.
By showing which friends, fans or artists have liked a track, it will serve as a music recommendation tool whereby users can discover new songs through the people/artists they trust.
"Liked By" Indicators are now available globally on iOS and Android across all listener tiers (Basic, Go, Go+).
A larger evolution:
As per its statement, SoundCloud claims that "Liked By" Indicators are just the beginning of a larger platform evolution to drive community-based music discovery.
New features yet to launch in 2025 will “make SoundCloud more interactive, more social, and more reflective of the culture users help shape every day.”
