Jason Munro, Jennifer Scher and Jay Srivastav
Indie music financing company Pipeline Media, which was launched by Matt Spetzler’s investment firm Jamen Capital in January, has appointed three senior executives across its finance, legal and data teams.
The new hires:
Jay Srivastav is Head of Data & Product, Jennifer Scher joins as Chief Financial Officer, and Jason Munro assumes the role of General Counsel & Head of Business Affairs.
Jay Srivastav:
Srivastav will lead the development of Pipeline’s royalty infrastructure and data systems to ensure efficiency and scalability as the business grows across labels, publishers and distributors.
Beginning his career focusing on music catalog transactions and collateral valuations at FTI Consulting, he moved to Royal to help build analytics and forecasting systems for an artist-to-fan music rights marketplace.
He also co-founded Syncopate, a royalty management platform for music-rights investors.
Jennifer Scher:
Scher will oversee all aspects of finance, including ERP implementation, forecasting, budgeting and policy development.
She brings more than 25 years of experience across private equity, corporate finance, financial operations and strategic planning with both startup and multinational music communities.
Across her career she has raised more than $750 million in acquisition funding and executed over $1 billion in music acquisitions – including Round Hill’s acquisition of Carlin Music – and raised more than $250 million in debt financing focused on music assets.
Jason Munro:
The former Head of Business & Legal Affairs for Recorded Music, North America, at BMG, Munro will oversee all business affairs, legal, compliance and corporate governance matters.
Prior to moving from London to New York in 2018, he worked at SJ Berwin on Universal Music Group’s acquisition of EMI and the Parlophone Label Group carve-out, before roles at Russells Solicitors and Island Records.
What they said:
Matt Spetzler, Founder and CEO of Pipeline Media: “These appointments reflect our commitment to building a world-class team with deep expertise across finance, legal and data. Jennifer, Jason and Jay each bring a unique and highly relevant skill set that strengthens our ability to support independent music businesses globally with the capital and infrastructure they need to thrive.”
