Kanye’s Troubled Tour Hit with More Cancellations

Shows in Poland and Switzerland have been nixed

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, has had shows in Poland and Switzerland canceled on account of his previous antisemitic behavior.

Troubled tour:

  • In early April Ye was denied entry to the UK, leading to the cancellation of the Wireless Festival, which he was scheduled to headline over three nights.

  • Recently he postponed his Marseille concert as the French interior ministry considered banning the show.

  • Now Slaski Stadium in Chorzów, Poland, has canceled his June headline appearance, with stadium director Adam Strzyzewski citing “formal and legal reasons.”

  • Polish Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska stated: “In a country scarred by the history of the Holocaust, we cannot pretend that this is just entertainment.”

  • Shortly after, Swiss soccer club FC Basel canceled Ye’s upcoming show at St. Jakob-Park, on the grounds that it was not “in accordance with our values.”

Upcoming shows:

  • Having successfully performed in the United States and Mexico, Ye still has dates scheduled in the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, India, and Turkey.
