Idris Elba’s 7Wallace Partners With Nas’ Mass Appeal Records

7Wallace, the independent label founded by artist and actor Idris Elba, has announced a partnership with Nas’ Mass Appeal Records.

What it means:

• As per Music Business Worldwide, 7Wallace and Mass Appeal will collaborate on “co-releases, cross-market distribution, and collaborative original content that meet at the intersection of music, film, media and live experiences.”

• The partnership cements the labels’ existing creative relationship, which last year spawned the Slick Rick album, VICTORY.

• The joint press release promises upcoming “big release announcements,” and that the deal “signals an exciting new chapter of collaboration and opportunity for the UK and US hip-hop scenes alike.”

New hire:

• Char Grant has joined the London-based 7Wallace as A&R Director.

• The label has previously worked with artists such as Little Simz, Cypress Hill, Q-Tip and more.
