Goldenvoice to Host New Music Festival in Santa Monica
The Coachella organizer is slated to throw a massive one-day event on the beach along the Santa Monica pier
Goldenvoice, the AEG Presents subsidiary that produces Coachella, has signed an official agreement with the city of Santa Monica to host a new annual music festival. The first edition will be held in the fall of 2026.
The details:
The event will take place one day along the beach adjacent to the Santa Monica pier.
The proposed capacity is 30-35,000 with 12-15 artists performing.
The press release noted that the intention is for the festival to occur annually at least through fall 2028.
Background:
The Santa Monica City Council approved the new festival this past Tuesday (Dec. 16).
This move by the Council is part of Santa Monica’s Realignment Plan to revitalize the area as a cultural hotspot.
It also coincides with the historic run of global events coming to Los Angeles in the next three years: FIFA World Cup 2026, Super Bowl 2027, and the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2028.
What they said:
Melissa Ormond, Goldenvoice COO and COO of Festivals for AEG Presents: "Partnering with the city of Santa Monica to bring a yearly music festival to the Pier is a true honor for us. We can't wait to bring world class music and artists to one of the most beautiful urban locations in the state."
