DDEX Board Names Dan Simpson as Chair
The exec is also Head of Music Operations at Meta
Dan Simpson has been elected Chair of the Board of DDEX, the international standards-setting organization dedicated to improving the exchange of data and information across the music industry.
Work history:
In his 20-year career Simpson has worked at Sony Music, SoundCloud and Meta, where he’s currently Head of Music Operations.
He has been an Executive Board Member of DDEX since 2024, and part of the organization for longer.
He also represents Meta on the DDEX Board.
He succeeds Kim Beauchamp, who is the Executive Vice President Strategic Business Transformation & Operations at Universal Music Group.
As per Music Week, during his time at DDEX Simpson has played a key role in the Digital Sales Reporting (DSR) Working Group and the Electronic Release Notification (ERN) Working Group.
He has also been the Board sponsor for the Anomaly Reporting Working Group, which is focused on things such as streaming fraud.
