
CTM Outlander, the joint venture between Netherlands-based CTM and US-based Outlander Capital, has acquired the master recording catalog of American singer-songwriter Matt Simons.
The deal:
The transaction covers masters spanning the US artist’s career, including albums Living Proof, Pieces, Catch & Release, When the Lights Go Down, Rak Studio Sessions, and Identity Crisis.
Simons’ 2015 breakthrough single “Catch & Release (Deepend Remix)” reached Number 1 in countries such as Germany, France, Spain and Belgium, and went Platinum and Gold in Canada, South Africa, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, and Switzerland.
He currently has just under 3.5 million monthly Spotify listeners.
Ongoing strategy:
CTM Outlander launched in 2021 with a plan to invest $1 billion in music rights over five years.
Recent publishing acquisitions include the catalogs of Shane McAnally, Sam Hunt, Ross Copperman, and Natalie Hemby.
