Chrysalis Co-Founder Chris Wright Launches Right Tracks

Chris Wright, co-founder of legendary British music company Chrysalis, has launched boutique publishing and label company, Right Tracks.

Why it matters:

• Right Tracks marks Wright’s return to the music industry after more than a decade.

• He co-founded Chrysalis in 1968, which became home to artists such as Jethro Tull, Pat Benatar, Billy Idol and Huey Lewis and The News.

• As per Music Business Worldwide he also served as Chairman of the BPI, founding the British Record Industry Awards in 1982, the forerunner of the BRIT Awards.

The label:

• Joining Wright at Right Tracks are A&R Director Joseph Spiteri; Sync Manager Roberta Moore; Rights Manager Naomi Wallace; and Finance Manager Ellen Sorlan.

• In its statement, Right Tracks says it “aims to provide access, expertise, and long-term support in a changing musical landscape.”

• It also covers rights, registrations, royalties, sync opportunities and long-term catalog planning for songwriters and estates.

The roster:

• Essex indie rock band Black Lounge and Gloucestershire singer-songwriter Flora Fiora have signed label and publishing deals.

• Middlesborough singer-songwriter Finn Forster is signed for publishing, as is Stuart Brayson.

• Brayson has written 28 musicals that have been performed in the West End, on Broadway, and beyond, including From Here to Eternity.
