Investor and entrepreneur Mark Cuban has made a “significant investment” in Burwoodland, the live events producers behind Emo Night Brooklyn, Gimme Gimme Disco, Broadway Rave and All Your Friends. The terms have not been disclosed.
Backstory:
Burwoodland was founded by Alex Badanes and Ethan Maccoby in 2015.
It produces more than 1200 events annually, and has moved 1.5 million tickets to date.
Looking ahead:
As per Digital Music News, Burwoodland has 2026 events booked globally in cities such as Milan, Brooklyn, Louisville, Nashville, and Antwerp.
It will also produce its first festival, “Long Live Emo Fest,” on January 24, 2027, at the 2,700-capacity Brooklyn Paramount.
Previous investment:
Previous investors in the company include Split Second head Izvor Zivkovic, Brooklyn Bowl owner Peter Shapiro, and Justin Kalifowitz’s Klaf Companies.
What they said:
Mark Cuban: “It’s time we all got off our asses, left the house and had fun. Alex and Ethan know how to create amazing memories and experiences that people plan their weeks around. In an AI world, what you do is far more important than what you prompt.”
