K-pop superstars BTS will release a new, as-yet-untitled album on March 20.
Long wait:
The band’s previous album was a 2022 anthology of singles, demos and unreleased tracks called Proof.
Following its release the band went on hiatus as its members fulfilled their military service obligations.
Big announcement:
The new album was confirmed by management company Big Hit on its Korean-language X account on January 1.
There had, however, been teasers for several months, with a November Weverse update by member RM stating “the music is coming out really well!”
The band is also planning a world tour.
Chart success:
BTS has secured six Number 1s on the Billboard 200 chart to date.
The group has also achieved six Number 1s on the Billboard Hot 100.
BTS was awarded the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year in 2020 and 2021, the first act to win it two years running.
