Breakaway Names Josh Posner VP of Business Development

New York-headquartered Breakaway – the independent company that spans live music, artist services, digital media, event management and operations – has appointed Josh Posner Vice President of Business Development.

The role:

• Posner will oversee business development and execution across Breakaway’s platform, including new business ventures, talent buying for special projects, artist management for the company’s record labels and management arm Breakaway Projects, and strategic partnerships.

• He will serve in the role while continuing as Head of Music Talent at Bustle Digital Group (BDG), where he leads talent strategy for NYLON.

• The move builds on the existing partnership between BDG and Breakaway, which unites BDG’s cultural brands with Breakaway’s festival network.

• His appointment follows Breakaway’s recent Series B funding round and the expansion of its festival footprint into New York City.

Backstory:

• Posner has steered NYLON House into a premier live event platform.

• He also manages artists such as Beau Cruz, Lucas and Jean Watts, who he will bring into the Breakaway ecosystem.

• Over the past decade he has negotiated artist deals, brand partnerships and global activations for artists including Diplo, John Summit and Ellie Goulding.
