Artist House Music and Studio Hub Launches in New York

The collaborative space seeks to foster a community of producers, songwriters and more

Artist House, a new music and studio hub for songwriters, producers, musicians and content creators, has opened in Hudson Square in New York City.

The founders:

  • Artist House is co-founded and founder-funded by Gregg Wattenberg, a GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer, and Steve Lerner, a 30-year music industry veteran and Wind-up Entertainment Co-Founder and former CEO.

The aim:

  • Dubbed a “first-of-its-kind music industry hybrid,” Artist House combines extensive industry expertise, high-quality personalized attention and customized planning for each artist through a full suite of creative and business services all under one roof.

  • As NYC’s largest music studio complex, Artist House includes four divisions:

  • Artist House Studios, the 20,000 foot state-of-the-art recording studio facility and collaborative space that features 10 studios across two floors.

  • Artist House Records, a fully independent record label providing all components of A&R development, from sourcing producers and songwriting sessions to offering a full suite of marketing services across DSP strategy, social and audience growth strategy, and more.

  • Artist House Publishing, a full-service boutique publishing company offering full rights management including in-house administration, song pitching, sync, and full A&R support scheduling writing sessions, and more.

  • AH Management Collective, which is co-helmed by Adina Friedman and Ian LaPlace and currently boasts a roster including Lindsey Stirling, Princess Nokia, Rio Romeo and Izzy Escobar.

  • Songwriters that work with Artist House Records will get access to the proprietary Songwriters Fund, through which Artist House dedicates up to 10% of the points on the master to any associated songwriter, effectively multiplying a writer’s earning potential on songs with Artist House artists.

What they said:

  • Gregg Wattenberg: “We are reimagining the concept of artist development, bringing a more personalized and tailored approach to the art of making music, providing the space and expertise to pair songwriters and producers with artists for true development. With Artist House, we are also nurturing a music movement to bring the soul and ambition of music back to New York City. We're not just reviving the city's scene – we're building its future.”

  • Steve Lerner: “We believe artists deserve a holistic, artist-first ecosystem that not only supports their creativity, but also protects their vision and empowers their careers from every angle. At Artist House, we provide the infrastructure and expertise that allow musicians to focus on what matters most: making great music and connecting with their audience.”
