Pedrito Martinez, born in Havana, Cuba, on September 12, 1973, is a Grammy-nominated Cuban percussionist, singer, dancer, and songwriter. He is renowned for his mastery of Afro-Cuban folkloric music and the batá drum. Martinez settled in New York City in 1998, where he continued to develop his career in Latin jazz and rumba.
