Melvis Santa, born in Havana, Cuba, is a Grammy-nominated Cuban vocalist, composer, actress, and educator. She gained recognition at 14 by founding the all-female collective Sexto Sentido. Known for her multidisciplinary artistry, she specializes in jazz and Afro-Cuban music. Santa is currently based in New York City.
