Devo is an American new wave band formed in 1973 in Akron, Ohio. Known for their distinctive man-as-machine persona and pioneering use of drum machines, their classic lineup featured the Mothersbaugh and Casale brothers. They gained prominence with their hit song "Whip It" and their unique artistic vision.
