Clive Davis

Clive Jay Davis (born April 4, 1932) is an American record producer, A&R executive, and record executive. He has won five Grammy Awards and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer. Davis is known for signing artists such as Janis Joplin, Santana, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, and Alicia Keys. He was president of Columbia Records, then founded Arista Records and J Records, and was chairman/CEO of BMG North America. Currently, he is chief creative officer of Sony Music Entertainment.
