Christian McBride, born May 31, 1972, in Philadelphia, is an American jazz bassist, composer, and bandleader. A nine-time Grammy Award winner, he has contributed to over 400 recordings and serves as the Artistic Director of the Newport Jazz Festival. His genre is primarily jazz.
