Organizers of nostalgia-driven punk and emo festival When We Were Young have announced the festival will not take place in 2026.
Year off:
No reason has been given for the decision, only that organizers will spend the time giving “the festival the care it deserves... to make sure what comes next feels just as special as what came before.”
They are promising a return to Las Vegas in 2027.
Backstory:
When We Were Young was launched in 2017 at The Observatory in Santa Anna, CA.
It moved to Las Vegas in 2022 and has been held there ever since.
It’s renowned for featuring a who’s who of ’90s and 2000s punk rock and emo bands, with many performing their classic albums in full.
Previous headliners include Blink-182, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance.
Industry issues:
When We Were Young joins a growing list of international festivals hibernating in 2026, including Glastonbury, Netherlands dance event Mysteryland and Punk Rock Bowling.
Last week, global hip-hop festival Rolling Loud announced it was canceling its 2026 Australian dates.
