Sunita Kaur Named President, Asia for Universal Music Publishing Group

Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has named Sunita Kaur President, Asia.

The role:

• Singapore-based Kaur will oversee the company’s operations across the continent.

• The company says she will drive sustainable growth, strengthen UMPG’s presence in key markets, and help shape a more connected, inclusive, and forward-looking music ecosystem.

• Working closely with UMPG teams across the region, Kaur will focus on supporting and amplifying the voices of songwriters and artists, ensuring they have the platforms, partnerships, and protections needed to thrive.

• Kaur will report to UMPG Chairman & CEO Jody Gerson.

Backstory:

• UMPG says Kaur is a highly-regarded executive with deep experience across the music, digital media, and technology sectors.

• Her previous roles include Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific at global live-streaming platform Twitch; Vice President, Revenue, Asia Pacific as well as Managing Director, Southeast Asia at Spotify; and Director, Asia at Facebook.
